Damian swears to marina that as soon as he is a free man again, he is going to go see her. Esthercita, very affectionate, tells damian that their honeymoon is finally going to begin. Damian tells her that that is no honeymoon, that they are there to work and that she should not expect to get any special treatment from anybody. Esthercita tells him that she can work like any sailor. Damian tells her he hopes so because his men cannot get distracted just to be tending to her; and she can go stay in the Stateroom for the time being. Esthercita is furious because damian doesn’t pay any attention to her.
He reminds her that from the moment she boarded the boat, he warned her things would be so. Esthercita reproaches him telling him he did have time to be with marina; she asks him to tell her if he is in love with marina. Damian asks her what difference it makes if he is in love with marina or not. Esthercita tells him she is never going to let him go away with marina; that she prefers to see him dead than to let marina have him because he belongs to her (esthercita), that he is her husband and he should be faithful to her.
Damian warns her he is getting fed up of that situation. Police commander robles discovers that jazmin is one of the young women who has been reported as being kidnapped. Fulgencio, upset, tells nereo that jazmin had no business being at his daughter’s wedding and dancing with police commander robles. Nereo assures him that it is jazmin’s job to seduce commander robles in order to get information from him about the investigation. Fulgencio tells nereo he hopes he is not mistaken because jazmin could give them away.
Nereo assures him that she won’t because her sister would pay for that. Fulgencio tells rosario that when he overheard her talking about his daughter it reminded him of the nights they spent together on the beach and of how she abandoned him after that. Rosario, upset, tells him he was the one who abandoned her when he told her she was expecting a child of his. Fulgencio, sarcastic, tells him she was not good enough for him whereas delfina was, because she came from a good family and it suited his plans.
Rosario warns him that at any moment now, she is going to shout from the rooftops for all the town to hear, that he is the father of her son lazaro. Lazaro tells father tomas that he is in love with jazmin and he wants to get married to her. Father tomas, stunned, tells him he just met that girl and that getting married is not like going off on vacation. Rosario is shocked when father tomas tells her that lazaro wants to get married. Nereo tells jazmin that she has to find a way to stop commander robles from going near her again.
She tells him that he himself ordered her to try to seduce him and now he is going to get suspicious. Nereo tells her he doesn’t car how she manages that and that he prefers her to be besotted with lazaro than for her to go out with commander robles. Marina, desolate remembers damian’s words. Damian is determined to get divorced from esthercita and go look for marina, never to get separated from her again.
