Damian reproaches esthercita for having attacked marina in such a vulgar way; he tells her that marina is his boss. Esthercita tells him marina deserved it because she knows that something happened between them on his boat. Damian tells her that they were attacked on that boat and they could have died and there was no time for romancing; he tells her she should be satisfied with the fact that he is getting married to her and that she should never attack marina ever again.
Beatriz tells marina that as she doesn’t want to leave that town, she should at least, fire damian fabre. Marina tells her she cannot do that because there is a signed contract and, besides that, that would affect the people who Depend on him. Beatriz tells marina that she doesn’t know what is happening to her with that man. Marina remains thinking that she doesn’t understand what she feels for damian either.
Lazaro asks damian to help jazmin so candy makes her do a different kind of job. Damian tries to convince him that that is the kind of work that kind of woman does and that they are very loyal as friends and that he should never fall in love with her. Lazaro, upset, tells him that if he doesn’t want to help him, he should not give him advice he doesn’t need either. Damian shows marina a conch and that they swore to keep them for good when they were little children; he asks her if she still has hers.
Marina tells him she doesn’t and that she doesn’t remember anything because they were very little. Beatriz is happy to see rebeca. Esthercita tells mayuya that she is sure there is something going on between damian and marina because she really looked jealous when she saw them kissing each other and, also, because of the way damian defended her. Damian tries to make marina admit that she loves him and that if she were to ask him to, he would give everything up for her.
Marina tells him there is no possibility of a relationship between them because he is going to get married soon so, that is goodbye for them. Fulgencio, furious, tells hernan that it makes him very angry to have to consent to letting damian marry his daughter}, besides all the mistakes hernan and his men have done. Hernan tells fulgencio that he admits that his men have made mistakes but that, once his daughter is married, she will become a widow very soon after that. Damian tells marina that if she accepts him, he will withdraw his promise to marry and will devote himself to making her happy.
Marina tells him they have no right to harm those who love them. Marina exits from the church and damian follows her. Esthercita watches them furious. Olinto tells marina that ever since she confronted the pirates and saved captain fabre’s life, she has become a heroine and that everybody respects her even more.
