The Neighbor, original title “La Vecina” is a 2015 Mexican comedy-telenovela. it was produced by Lucero Suárez for Televisa. it has 177 episodes. starring Esmeralda Pimentel, Juan Diego Covarrubias, Javier Jattin. Natalia Guerrero, Alejandro Ibarra, Luis Gatica, Alfredo Gatica, Arturo Carmona and Pierre Angelo.
[adinserter block=”10″] The Vecina tells the story of Sara who breaks her relationship with Cheo and gets fired from the Hotel where she was working. Jobless and facing her love situation, she decides to spend a few days in San Gaspar with her uncles Simón and Vicente.
He is a joyful, generous man who rejects injustice. He is his niece Sara’s protector and advisor. They share Bruno’s condo with whom he keeps a respectful relationship, similar to that of a father and a son. He is a farmer and he is building a rocket too. He will launch into space with the unconditional support of his admirer Edwina. Simón and Bruno join forces to support the farmers in the region and this way avoid Pedro keeps abusing them. Meanwhile, the General Director of CONATROL, a company dedicated to distribute gasoline, decides to send Antonio Andrade to their factory located in San Gaspar due to the huge gasoline robbery there is in that area. Antonio accepts to go immediately, putting off his wedding with Isabel, the daughter of millionaire Guillermo Cisneros.
Ricardo, another employee at CONATROL, takes advantage of Antonio’s absence to do anything in order to take his place, not only at work, but also seducing Isabel, Antonio’s fiancée, and making and alliance with Pedro, the local leader of the gasoline plunderers.
Destiny puts Sara and Antonio together, first as neighbors and then when Sara comes to CONATROL looking for a job. Sara and Antonio spend a weekend together in an unexpected trip where an attraction emerges between them. Despite the fact that they have such different personalities, Sara’s attitude and freshness will win his heart over, little by little.
Back in San Gaspar, Antonio and Sara say good-bye lovingly; they can’t deny the attraction they feel, but they understand that what they lived during the trip can’t go on. He is engaged and she is very different to what Antonio expects from life. He promises to give her a job in CONATROL without imagining that Ricardo will manage to make them look bad, making an appointment with Sara for a “job interview” with the sole intention of exposing Sara’s and Antonio’s supposed affair in front of the company’s top executives, preventing Sara from being hired this way.
[adinserter block=”10″] Sara decides to get back to San Gaspar, but she misses her flight and Antonio lets her stay in his apartment where they make love and promises too. The next day, Sara finds out about Antonio’s engagement with Isabel and she gets back to San Gaspar heartbroken, believing Antonio only played with her heart.
Sara decides to take the control of her life and buys Pedro’s restaurant “El Molcajete”. Pedro makes things very easy for her thinking he could get fresh information about CONATROL this way, aware of Sara’s interest in Antonio.
Antonio decides to break his relationship with Isabel and tries to win Sara’s heart again, but Isabel manages to put Antonio’s father in jail unjustly, forcing Antonio to marry her in exchange for his father’s freedom. Sara feels betrayed by Antonio once more and decides to stay away from him forever.
Sara and Antonio know they are made for each other and they were born to be together, but they must fight for their happiness following their hearts and putting their fears aside.

She is a joyful, beautiful and smart young girl. Her main concern is to financially support her mother and her brother Juancho. She tries to enjoy life and live it to the fullest. Even when sometimes she allows herself be driven by situations without thinking about the consequences. Antonio comes to her life and captivates her in such way she can’t even understand herself the attraction she feels for him.
Juan Diego Covarrubias as Antonio
He is a bright petrochemical engineer. A methodic, cold, calculating and refined man. He analyzes thoroughly the pros and cons of his relationships before actually starting them. He tries to control his environment with excessive order. He breaks all his patterns on arriving to San Gaspar. Especially when he meets Sara, his neighbor. Who drives him crazy in every single way. she has the capacity to convince him of anything only with her innocence and a simple smile. However, his personality and fears impede him to fully accept the love he feels for Sara.
Javier Jattin as Cheo
He is a hot-headed and controlling man. However, deep inside he is a good-hearted person. His jealousy for Sara make him lose control. he wants to marry her at any cost regardless of her expectations about a couple. The hatred he feels towards Antonio makes him blame him for everything that goes wrong with Sara. He won’t give up until he wins her back.
Natalia Guerrero as Isabel
She is the only child of one of the richest families in the country. She has a relationship with Antonio. whom she believes to be her soulmate. he also belongs to the same social circle she does. When Antonio goes to San Gaspar. She starts an affair with Ricardo to take revenge for Antonio’s infidelity with the neighbor. She knows her relationship with Ricardo is wrong. However, she will do anything to have a good time with him until she gets to marry Antonio and her life goes back in track.
Alejandro Ibarra as Vicente
He is a priest. A good and committed man with his community. Extroverted and passionate about soccer. He is the leader of the soccer team “Los Alados”. His only rival is Fidel, police chief and Director of the soccer team “Los Artilleros”. Outside the soccer yard, they treat each other with respect, support and affection. He is the protector, adviser and uncle of Sara. His brother’s daughter of whom he feels proud. He disapproves of her relationships with Cheo and Antonio as they only bring instability to her.
Luis Gatica as Pedro
He is intelligent, hypocrite and ambitious, but emotionally insecure. He has been part of the illegal world since he was very young. Becoming overtime the leader of a gang dedicated mainly to steal gasoline. His wife Laura, 20 years younger than him. She produces a deep love in him but also some violent jealousy which leads to tragic consequences. He wishes she would worship him at any level. His ambition to achieve his goals as a criminal leader makes him involve innocent people without mercy.
Alfredo Gatica as Ricardo
He is ambitious, arrogant and a traitor. He manages to go up professionally until he becomes an important executive in CONATROL. He denies his humble origins and avoids all contact with Esperanza, his mother. Ricardo deeply rejects Antonio for being and having all he wants for himself. It turns him into Pedro’s informer just to affect Antonio’s work and make illegal money. He tries to impress Isabel to be accepted by her.
Arturo Carmona as Fidel
San Gaspar’s Police Major. He is efficient, responsible and good-hearted. He shares with Vicente the passion for soccer, with whom he has several disagreements. The major resents Vicente’s influence over his beloved family. he accepts it with some sort of resignation. His overprotective personality is more evident in front of his sister Edwina. Whom he considers incapable of facing life. So he wants to protect her even from the attraction she feels for Simón.
