After Cristobal doubted Valeria and her mum’s ill sayings about Aldonza befriending her father Humberto, Valeria grows so angry at Cristobal for defending Aldonza right before her and so Cristobal not being able to take their insults on Aldonza, he leaves in anger since Valeria was not willing to let them come into a simple agreement about the presumed affair between Humberto and Aldonza. Humberto goes to a different bank to check if his loan was approved this time around but they also turn him down by saying that his requirement does not qualify him to be given a loan though he has never missed any of his loan arrears payment. As soon as the bank manager finish explaining the situation, Humberto then ask him if Severiano has a hand in his loan refusal and nervousness set in as usual in the manager’s face.
Cristobal goes straight to speak with Humberto after he leaves Valeria and his mum to ask him the truth about the whole issue concerning his suppose affair with Aldonza and Humberto answers him that everything his wife and daughter said to him isn’t true there is nothing between him and Aldonza. Humberto then asks Cristobal why does it bothers him so much to the extent of coming to ask him, Cristobal tells him, it is just that he doesn’t want Aldonza to be like her mother as the whole town people say. Humberto then tells Cristobal that Aldonza is nowhere like her mother who by the way was the worst kind of woman but all the same he can say that, Roberta was also just a victim of circumstance and that made her to do many worse things and so Aldonza can’t be like her because she has always proven to be a decent girl.
Uriel gets so angry after he arrives home to hear from his wife that Abelardo stroked Emmanuel with a wood. As a mother she tries to do anything to defend his son because he has the fear that Abelardo will never return after running out of the house but Uriel tells her not to get worried because since their son have chosen his own path of life, he has to face the consequences of his actions .Humberto sees candela in the kitchen and he takes the opportunity to thank her for allowing Emmanuel to stay in her house to receive treatment, Candela who has always looked out for an opportunity to let Emmanuel leave her house suddenly tells Humberto that, if he really wants to thank her then the only thing that will make her accept his thanks is for Humberto to take Emmanuel out of her house the next morning since she can’t stand him lying on Cristobal’s bed and room, Humberto not having any choice agrees to do that if Emmanuel has no complications.
Mary visits Emmanuel to give him chocolate and Lola after discovering that, she also goes to see Emmanuel to take the chocolate from him stating, she tells him Mary has may be cast a spell on it so she has to take it away and promises to buy him a different one.
Prudencia meets Aldonza in town, she confronts about the suppose romantic relationship she is having with her husband, she calls Aldonza all sorts of names but Aldonza listen to her without saying anything, Prudencia quickly picks a stone and throws it at her forehead, Aldonza immediately bleeds.
