Mariana and Perpétua ask Joana not to move to her father’s house, telling her that Pedro and Caetano are in love with her. Netto finds out that there are Imperials in Porto Alegre and sends Netinho to spy on them.
Manuela and Terêncio come across a troop. Rossetti discovers that Barbara knows how to read, but she continues to refuse to tell him where she’s from. Rosário arrives at the ranch with Corte Real and everyone finds her strange. Damiana assures Madre Cecilia that Rosário is fooling her.
Perpétua is thrilled to see Rosário. Rosa is shocked to see Onofre arrive with his wife. Netto finds out that Bento Manuel left with his men. Onofre invites Joana to live in his house, and she says she’ll think about it. Manuela and Terêncio are led by the Caramurus, who take the arms of their guard.
