We talked with the 28-year-old actress, who spoke to us about not only her journey in the novela, but also about her character, Verónica Prado Castelo, and how it’s been a experiment yet rewarding in her career. Find out below the interview:

Latin Times: How has the experience been for you in “Lo Imperdonable” / “Unforgivable”?

Ana Brenda Contreras: It’s been a very enriching experience. A challenge in my career because Veronica is nothing like the other roles I’ve done, especially since I had to portray a strong character and less conventional in the melodrama.

LT: What similarities do you have with Veronica?

ABC: Her strength and her family values!

LT: How has it been working alongside Ivan Sanchez?

ABC: Ivan is a helpful and considerate colleague. He’s a very committed and respectful partner. We have a lot of fun, we’re always laughing and making jokes. If someone makes a mistake on set, we bust out laughing! It’s been an honor to meet him!

LT: What have you learned as part of this production and cast?

ABC: You always learn something news and from this production, I take with me new friends and unforgettable lessons.

LT: What three words best describe “Lo Imperdonable” / “Unforgivable”?

ABC: Revenge, Love and Passion.

LT: Besides telenovelas, you’ve also done film and theater. What do you enjoy about acting in all three?

ABC: I enjoy acting in all three. In theater, it’s the adrenaline of having the audience present. In TV, it’s the rhythm, it’s day-by-day. And in film, the power to have more time to prepare, everything is more cautious.

LT: In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, what does it mean for you to be Hispanic?

ABC: It fills me with great pride and a very big responsibility!

LT: What projects will you be working on after “Lo Imperdonable” / “Unforgivable”?

ABC: I’m currently in the musical “Mentiras” and I’ll be touring with them until the end of the year.
